Earlier today our legal partner updated us on Italy and Spain's decision to ban covered short selling at 1.50pm with immediate effect. By 3.00pm we had the new rules created and tested, just in time for our user's daily Ex-Post checks.
Italy
Italy have banned the sale of shares issued by certain companies, effective immediately, for a week until the 27th July 2012. The list of companies and the original document can be found here.
Spain
Spain has an out right ban on covered short selling effective immediately, for 3 months until the 23rd October 2012. For the original document see here.
