The SEC’s new filing system, EDGAR Next, is set to go live in September - and every investment manager will need to be ready.
The What
Built to improve security, streamline access, and simplify account management, the SEC’s new filing portal - EDGAR Next - marks another milestone in the U.S. regulator's latest step in modernising its tech infrastructure. This change means that all filings – including Forms 13F, 13G, 13H, and N-PX – must be submitted using the new login.gov credentials..
Key deadlines
While the compliance date is technically September 15th, managers filing with the SEC must acquire their new login credentials by September 12th to avoid any interruption to filings.
For those that have followed the SEC guidance to this point and have secured their login credentials to EDGAR Next, the work is done. For those not quite ready, the window to act is closing quickly.
How to Enroll
Enrollment for EDGAR Next opened back in March through the SEC’s EDGAR Filer Management website. Current filers can log in and complete the process there, while new filers, or existing filers who don’t have the required information on hand, will need to submit a Form ID through the same site to obtain the right credentials. This is critical, as without enrollment, filers will not be able to access their EDGAR accounts or submit required filings.
For FundApps Clients
All EDGAR filers must enroll in EDGAR Next regardless of whether they are using a filing agent, like Filing Manager, or another third-party service provider. As always, we’ve taken this into account.
For FundApps clients, once you've set up your EDGAR Next access, simply store your API token in Filing Manager and continue filing as you always have. From there, you’ll be able to submit Forms 13F, 13G, and 13F-2 with a single click, thanks to our direct API integration with EDGAR Next.
